PAY IT FORWARD
The expression "Pay it forward" is used to describe the concept of asking that a good turn be repaid by having it done to others instead. Hence, pay it forward equals to do good deeds without expecting anything for oneself.

HISTORY:
Benjamin Franklin described this concept, in a letter to Benjamin Webb dated April 22, 1784.The letter was like this:
“I do not pretend to give such a Sum .I only lend it to you. When you [...] meet with another honest man in similar distress, you must pay me by lending this Sum to him; enjoining him to discharge the Debt by a like operation, when he shall be able, and shall meet with another opportunity. I hope it may thus go through many hands, before it meets with a Knave that will stop its progress. This is a trick of mine for doing a deal of good with a little money.”

STEPS:
· Be helpful. Be attentive wherever you are for opportunities to help someone.

· Do something nice for someone you do not know (or do not know very well).

· Spread the word. If the person thanks you and wants to "repay" you, let them know that what you would really like is for them to pay it "forward" – you would like them to do something nice for three people they do not know, and ask those three people to do something nice for three more people. The idea is to increase the goodness of the world.

· Pay it forward. When you notice that somebody has done something nice for you, make a note in your mind to practice three acts of kindness towards other people.

EFFECTS:
ü Practicing the "pay it forward" principle will make you alert to unexpected kindness from strangers toward you, and you may find yourself becoming more grateful for everyday kindness and consideration from people you do not even know.

ü Some people will not act grateful, but the benefits may still come around when you are not there to see it.

ü It will make your day much bright and will share a common bond among different people.

SOME TIPS:
Ø Make sure you read your motivation quotes on a daily basis.
Ø Share your motivational sayings with others.
Ø Do not think yesterday’s actions will work for today.
Ø If you have something nice to say, say it.
Ø Make a donation if possible.
Ø Volunteer for a nonprofit co-operation.
Ø Smile always. One smile can go a long way to someone having a terrible day.

Hence, pay it forward equals to do good deeds without expecting anything for oneself.
